It's not always easy to motivate yourself to go and do sport, especially when you imagine yourself sweating, exerting yourself and therefore often suffering! Yes, when we think of sport, we often associate it with physical activities that accelerate our heart rate. But they're not the only things that keep us in shape. Strength training, balance and stretching are just as important in maximizing the benefits of a session and limiting the risk of injury. That's why it's important to vary each workout. Some sports, such as yoga, allow you to incorporate these different exercises.

Body-building exercises

By building muscle mass, you protect your joints. Lifting weights, doing crunches or push-ups also helps to build stamina and burn as many calories as possible. That's right, muscles burn more calories than any other organic tissue. So if you want to lose weight, you know what you have to do.

Cardiovascular exercise

Exercises that accelerate the heart rate. Swimming, running, tennis, dance and fitness all put pressure on the cardiovascular system. This type of exercise also improves breathing and reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, hypertension and certain cancers.

Balance exercises

Often forgotten, at least before a certain age, balance exercises use muscle strength and coordination to stabilize movement. They enable our bodies to maintain a good posture and thus better control our stability. They are particularly recommended for pregnant women, people who have put on weight and the elderly, to refocus their gravity.

Stretching exercises

Stretching exercises tend to be rushed through at the end of each session. Yet they are essential to reduce the risk of sports injuries! They can be static or dynamic, stretching muscles and improving joint movement. So don't neglect them.
